Brie Williams

Brie Williams is Managing Director, Global Head of Advisory Solutions and Wealth Intelligence at State Street Global Advisors. She develops and executes strategies to help institutions, employers, and financial intermediaries strengthen their business practices and deliver better outcomes for the investors they serve. Brie oversees two key areas: the Practice Management team, which equips financial advisors with the tools and strategies to navigate change, grow their businesses, and achieve sustainable success, and the Research Center, which provides wealth management professionals with data-driven insights and analysis to understand the trends shaping the investment management industry, both now and in the future.
As a recognized leader in change management, Brie transforms complex research and insights into actionable strategies that make a real difference. Her expertise has made her a sought-after speaker and contributor to financial media and industry events. Her achievements including being named a Women in Wealth Management Trailblazer by ThinkAdvisor and one of Inkandescent Women’s 15 Pioneering Women.
Before joining State Street Global Advisors, Brie held senior leadership roles at Putnam Investments, where she spearheaded global marketing efforts to reposition the brand and lead the company’s transition into the digital age. She also drove go-to-market strategies for the U.S. retail mutual fund business, introducing new investment solutions and advancing wealth management thought leadership.
Earlier in her career, Brie worked in advertising and consumer behavior, leading campaigns for global brands like McDonald’s and Frito-Lay. Her work earned her a Bronze Effie Award for marketing effectiveness, reflecting her ability to drive results through creative and strategic initiatives.
Brie holds a Master of Arts degree from Emerson College and a bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University. She is a holder of FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses and is deeply committed to mentoring future leaders in financial services. Brie serves as an Advisory Board Member for ThoughtLab, an independent think tank, and is Co-Head of the Women in ETFs Speakers Bureau. She previously held leadership roles on the organizations’ Global Governance Committee.
