        Alejandro Gaba is a Senior Managing Director of State Street Global Advisors and Global Head of Research for Systematic Equity. In this role, Alejandro is responsible for leading the research agenda across the full spectrum of systematic equity solutions, including index, factor and customized index solutions, as well as retaining full ownership of active equity capabilities.
        Since joining the firm in 2005 as a Quantitative Research Analyst, Alejandro has held various quantitative research and portfolio management roles. Most recently, he was Head of Research for Active Quantitative Equity, and prior to that, was an Emerging Markets Senior Portfolio Manager and Head of Active Emerging Markets Research. Prior to joining the firm, Alejandro started his career as a Quantitative Modeler for the Structured Finance group at Moody’s Investors Service.
        Prior to joining the firm, Alejandro started his career as a Quantitative Modeler for the Structured Finance group at Moody’s Investors Service.
        Alejandro completed his PhD studies (all but dissertation) in Finance from the University of Rochester. Additionally, he earned an MBA in Finance as well as an MS in Business Admin-istration (Applied Economics). He was a Sproull Fellow at the University of Rochester and is a member of Beta Sigma Gamma. Prior to his program of studies at Rochester, he also received an MS in Astrophysics from UNC-Chapel Hill and a BS in Physics (Honours) from McGill University.
