Kishore L Karunakaran

Kishore is a Managing Director of State Street Global Advisors in the Systematic Equity group. He is also a member of SSGA's Senior Leadership Team. He is responsible for research, portfolio management, product development and positioning for active capabilities within the Systematic Equity group.
Prior to joining SSGA, Kishore was a principal at Froot Dornbusch O'Connell (FDO) Partners, a multi-strategy hedge fund. Prior to FDO Partners, Kishore cofounded Quantshares (now acquired by AGF), an ETF issuer focused on liquid alternatives. Kishore was also a Director at Platinum Grove Asset Management, LP - one of two spin-offs from Long-Term Capital Management.
Prior to joining Platinum Grove, Kishore was a Vice President in the Global Stock Selection team at AQR Capital Management, LLC. Prior to joining AQR, Kishore was tenured once again at SSGA as a Senior Portfolio Manager in the Active Quantitative Equities Group. Before his first role at SSGA, Kishore co-founded a business focused on macroeconomic research with professors from MIT, Cambridge University and UC Berkeley.
Kishore holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with concentrations in Analytical Finance, Econometrics & Statistics. He also holds a Joint Masters in Economics and Econometrics with Honors from the University of Sydney, Australia and a BA in Economics with Honors from the University of New South Wales, Australia.
